Overlays, yes or no?

For those of you that have overlays to cover the amber in the headlights, are they worth it? How do they look up close? Specifically black or black cf on a black e90..

They are definitely worth the money.
Everybody that I've showed didn't even know that they were overlays.
You just have to take your time when you instal them.
If you rush it then you will get a lot of bubbles and then you will notice.

I couldn't have said it better myself. It's about 2k for euro adaptives, which I would love to have, but I feel my mod money could be better spent elsewhere. Mine look better (silver etched), but still not great. For $40 bucks however, you really can't loose much.

i like the smoked ones since they seem to blend in better with the headlight and do a good job of taming down the amber.

the solid colors tend to stick out a little too much imho.

I went with the smoked but I have the titan silver.
If I had black, i would still go with the smoked because you still get the use out of the reflector without it being so orange.

If you don't want to spend like 2Gs, just take'em apart, paint the reflectors match to your car color and reseal it.
And when you reseal the headlights add some more silicons...

I had few customers who wanted to overlay their reflectors, they don't look that great. (I tried black on black)

I'm thinking of going to my local tint shop and ask them if they could tint over the amber now that would look nice.

I have the smoked overlays. But ill be taking the lexus to work tomorrow. Trying to keep the miles on the 335 down since we've been racking it up alot lately. Come out saturday morning!

heres 2 pics so you get the idea-

I think you should do smoked.... black is just too dark imo.
