Want an N57(335d)? Think agsin!

After they nicked my baby and I figure it ain't coming back, went in to speak to Jason Chuter at Park Lane, (thanks for the recommendation Brett - you're right, he cares).
Confirmed no more N57 engines for the UK and gave me a 2015, week 8 delivery.

Not worth ordering now. Wait until September and the week 36 updates will be in place and discounts will be heavier as the LCI will be closer.

So does that mean a 340d is on the way with a Bxx engine?!?

That's an astronomical wait and yes Park Lane is very good.

What will you do in meantime ?

Jason seemed to think so. A cosmetic change only to align the nomenclature across the company.

What do I do in the meantime? Luckily I still have my trusty Dec 06 335D Touring in top colour, Le Mans Blue. It has done a 125K and like me is showing a few signs of age, but the engine is A1, as is the body and interior (like me!!). Still get 40+per gallon on a spirited run to see the granddaughter in Manchester.
Can't bear to part with it for the silly money I've been offered. They don't deserve a gem for pennies and none of them are true believers.

Yay, up the Chuter! No wait that came out all wrong....

Is the engine change drastic with a decent increment in power and torque?

So a 340d with the same 313HP engine? Been saying it ever since they released the upgraded engine in the F series that it's daft!

No idea you couldn't order a 335d anymore? Really?
Then why is it still on BMWs website?

The 335d is still the current model and will remain so until the LCI at least.

The reason you can't order one for early delivery is simply that the UK has used up its allocation of 35d engines. You can still order one for Q1 2015. I assume that BMW will shift some allocation from elsewhere to solve this one.

5 months!! That's a long time. Don't think I could wait that long if mine got nicked, I'd have to get something else instead.......if the GAP paid out like it should, maybe an M3

Sorry to hear... I was just thinking how crazy a 6 month wait is - and then remembered I had to wait 5! It is a damn long time

I would be tempted to indulge after going through that, if it was me I'd get a 335i PPK on the rebound

Is someone being told porkies (me or Silverfox) given I was contacted today to be told my 335xd, ordered at the weekend, is due week 44 - end Oct? Or has my dealer amazingly been allocated a much earlier build.

Or a 330d with PPK. Same performance as a 335d, or should be.

Which reminds me, what ever happened to the showdown at Santa Pod? I sure there was a thread on this a few weeks ago?

If I was to side on someone coming out with accurate information, it would usually be Park Lane rather than the usual 'stealers'

If your order is in ,then it will be sorted and you will have been allocated a build.

From looking at when I put mine in, a change of days when I put order in, moved the build date 4 weeks to the right.

or ...

335d is a popular model, some preemptive ordering

you can change until the day before build even if your order is in

knowing one would sell they got allocated it?

basically allocated before you even walked in

I know for a fact that this isn't true. The BMW employee lease scheme through Alphadrive is currently offering both 335d and 535d models at very low rates as they haven't sold enough units.

If a dealer is offering a 2015 delivery date then either they have used up their allocation or they don't want your business.

Westerly Bridgewater currently have a fully specced Estoril 335d in there showroom, it's pre reg but brand new reduced from £52k to £41k. Big savings!

This has been reported by three people (I think) independently. I have no unique knowledge of the situation, and whether it is correct, as I have said on other threads, but is seems plausible.

I realise that there are still good discounts on 35d models, amongst others, which doesn't really add up, except that having worked in Frankfurt, I am not a great believer in German efficiency. It is possible that one department is unaware what another is up to.

The savings on the Westerley car are pretty typical.
