I have the non auto-dimming mirror. There's obviously power somewhere up in that housing for the SOS and airbag light. But is that accessible to tap into if I get a radar detector?

Anyone with experience? Or the easiest way to install?

Was probably getting the Escort SmartRadar, which does come with a wire meant to install into the mirror power.

open the 2 black plastic halves and check. its pretty easy

Yes, there's a power source even without the dimmer.
I just installed a mirror tap. I Use the two out most wires.
