So how's the brake dust?

Does the new M4 have the same excessive brake dust problem as the old e9x M3's (all BMW's)? Wondering about both the steel and carbon systems.

Admittedly a good portion of the reason I got the black wheels was the dust. Im lazy!

Just don't use the breaks. Time everything perfectly so you never need them. No dust, never need new break pads.

I like you! When I rule the universe, that rant will be an actual law.

I always pull ahead of the person that sprayed me down slow down... Just a bit and give my wind shield the best dam cleaning they ever got. Usually have to top it off when I am done.

I can wash my wheels a LOT of times for $8,000 And avoid the squeally prone ceramics too... brake squeal drives me nuts and ceramics are known for this once they get a few miles on them

Planning on powder coating my 19s black so hopefully the dust won't show as much. That 8k is going towards mods for me lol.

Yes, the brake dust is pretty bad...two or three days worth of driving and the front wheels are capped...but with the black wheels you can't tell unless you're purposely looking for brake dust.

I live very close, like 5 minutes, from BMW NA in New Jersey, so I have been sneaking in and out for the passed few months seeing the F8X. I happen to notice that when certain cars would disappear for a duration of time, that they would soon show up in a review video.

Sure enough, I matched the plates to one the M4's that was on Road America, steel brakes and all and the wheels were absolutely coated in dust! I had to go up to the wheel to make sure they were the 19" black and aluminum's because I thought they were just black.

Granted, the car was at road america, and that is not everyday life but they were very dirty.

Does anyone use any product on the wheels to make brake dust come off easier?

Put either Opticoat or CQuartz on the wheels and you will have excessively easy clean up for years to come.

I can't find USA dealers on these sites after a quick look.

Yes... No...

All ceramics are not created equal IMO. Carbotech pads are very good (1521 for the street). Other ceramics not so much IMO.
