Tire pressure sensor error..especially when temp drops in Dallas

For those in DFW area, did you tire pressure sensor light on? Mine was turned on when the temperature drop significantly yesterday...... i checked the pressure and it seems to be ok....

I don't have a 335i yet. But when it got cold here in killeen I know my wifes acadia tps came on. But after a couple minutes of driving it went out.

When it's cooler outside the pressure in your tires drop. Our TPMS will come on with (I think) a 3 psi drop. If you check your tire's pressure, I guarantee it's lower than before and beyond the max drop point, which will set it off.

i have the same problem in l.a. after a cold nite my tpms sensors go off so i took it to the dealer. it wasnt even that cold for it to drop

True, but keep in mind when the TPMS is calibrated, that's the "normal" pressure the sensor is looking for and calculating the low tire warning from. If the tires were filled high at the factory, the sensor may trigger a warning even if the pressure is normal when you check it. Fill the tires to factory settings and then reset your TPMS to be sure. (Instructions in the manual.)

Mine were set off when I went on a vacation and hit a cool night, so I had to fill and reset mine. No issues since.

It shouldn't be a problem. Mine went on for a couple of minutes, but after the tires heat up, you'll have no problems at all.

I ended up spending $0.75 to fill up the pressure to recommended setting.

I work as a porter at BMW and have had a lot of cars coming in with the TPM light on when we are going from hot to cold, its completely normal. Fill your tires to the recommended psi, reset the light and go on your merry way.
