Watch the video. It's exactly as it says; over the air TV on the iDrive screen. Not while the car is motion though. Unless you code it. (DISCLAIMER: But don't do that.)

Cheers.

TV Source is FreeView in the UK, about 60 channels.

Anyone know if it is still a major job (as in prior models) to retrofit the TV module to a US spec'd M4 or is the current setup more of a plug,(code) and play solution with all required antennas already in place??

I didn't select the Internet Option, but I have Connected drive; I'm not getting reliable operation with it yet, though that could be because I've not worked how to use it.

That is Girls Aloud "Out Of Control" Tour DVD; they have since split and Nadine lives in LA. If anyone lives in LA, please pop into Nadine's Irish Mist for a meal and drink and send the owners my best wishes.

Ok I wonder if its possible to get Internet through your phone? I know its possible on earlier iDrive systems.

TV may be "fairly standard" across the pond but I have never seen anything like that. I wonder if we could get it working for OTA broadcast channels? That is crazy, why listen to the weather on the way to work when you could watch it. Not in motion of course unless you coded that sort of thing which is bad, right?

I remember for my old E46 M3 with the newer wide screen LCD Nav, you could spend $700 for a NTSC TV tuner. Now in the USA NTSC broadcast is gone and broadcast networks are now broadcasting HD in ATSC. What tisme has is probably a DVB-T tuner for Europe.

Assuming BMW didn't make a separate ATSC tuner for North America, and if that same EU tuner hardware doesn't support both DVB-T and ATSC, it would be unlikely that we can have this TV feature for the US.

Sir Loin is correct, I have a DVB-T tuner in my F80 and also had the same in my E90; my E46 just had the UK standard analogue TV tuner, for which TV transmissions ceased a few years ago.

I've just tried streaming sound from my iphone via bluetooth, and that works perfectly too.

There have been some nice surprises in this F80 as regards multimedia.

If there was an hdmi or airplay hack, being able to watch Hulu, NFL, or netflix in the car (not while moving of course) that would phenomenal, on second thought that may be over stimulating.
