Tyre replacement time
I'm close to 35,000km and while I have another 5,000km or so left on my current tyres, I'm going to replace them this weekend as a) I'm ready to ditch the RFTs, and b) I want the tax deduction this FY
I debated keeping the ContiSportContact 5 SSR's or trying the RF offerings from Pirelli or Bridgestone, however I remembered how much I didn't regret going to standard rubber on my last BMW and will do the same again this time. Turns out my timing isn't bad either, my local Bob Jane managed to source 4x Michelin PSS in 225/45/18 (standard size for my 328i Sport line) for me at $266 a corner, which made my jaw hit the ground and ask him if he said what I thought he said. So if you're in the mind for it, get 'em at this price while it lasts I reckon. |

Jeez that's a good price especially from Bob Jane who are always the most expensive. Also be careful they like to scratch rims when fitting

That's a freaking good price. I am looking to do that change myself in the next 6 months. I am at 21,500 km and my rears don't look like they will last another 10,000 km.
Does anyone know if we still get BMW roadside assist if we switch to non-RFTs? And is a tyre kit a good idea?

Wow! Great price, I would get them & store it away till the RFT's wear out. At that price for Michelin PSS's you can't go wrong.

The new hoops are just dreamy. Props to Bob Jane at Macgregor for the good work and not scratching any rims
Anyone interested in my Conti's which have a good deal of tread left make me an offer http://f30.bimmerpost.com/forums/sho....php?t=1003843 |

I got a quote of $355 per corner fitted and balanced Michelin PSS here in Melbourne. I didn't heckle over it as I wasn't ready to pull the trigger. May need to ring around when the time comes.

Hi,
Check out WWW.TIRERACK.COM in the States even with shipping it's cheaper than local. Will be buying from them when I'm due. Just type in your tyre size and it's all in front of you all brands. |

You then need to add on postage and GST if the import price of the goods is over $1000. Then you can add the cost of someone fitting the tyres. If you reckon that's going to add up to less than $1064 I'd be very surprised. |

I have changed 4 tyres in 1 year already for my 12 months old car... hope i don't need to change soon...
Next time i will switch away from Pirelli... Tempe Tyres in Sydney has good price for Pirelli P Zero 19" RF, $390ish a corner for rear, should be cheaper for front. Stealership charged $650 for rear (ok if you are like me on tyre insurance)
