Golf Tee Mod?

So I have my M3 and I have brought it to my shop and disconnected the plug for the valves muffling the exhaust. It won't keep the flaps open.

Anyone have any insight?

Thanks!

I assume that ones unplugged it stays in 'normal mode' or closed valves. You'll have to find a way to keep the flaps permanently open by using a wire or similar.

Did you try to unplug the connector in the trunk? With the 335i, it was located on the left side.

We'll likely have to safety wire them open. Disconnecting the plug only works on the 335i because they are open by default, the F80/F82 are not.

We recently purchased a SQ5 as daily and the system on it is also closed by default.

I unplugged the connectors when all the valves were open and that solved the problem.

I would assume that M4 would have a similar system as well.

Did you get any error message after you unplugged cable from valve controller?

If no error code comes up, I am thinking about just cutting that portion of the exhaust that has valve flap and weld straight pipe to it.
