Best State/States to buy used car?
As far as it comes to buying a used car, (aside from your own state) where do you believe the best state to buy car from.I've heard that dryer , less harsh as far as season go. Winter =salt however, extreme heat = increased wear on the engine car. Suggestions? ( also price is always the biggest factor so any states in particular that you have found resent, or consistent on best average low prices?)

East coast cars w/ wet winters are a no go (it's not to say someone didn't garage queen their ride), West coast desert cars are the best bet IMO dry year round.

California has about 1/8th of all the vehicles in the USA. They also have some of the best weather. There are an incredible number of high-end cars in the major population centers, which means you can find the car you want, in a market where there is lots of competition hence low prices.

Florida cars IMO, as long as its well maintained. Desert cars see toooo hot of temps, and also I'm sure california cars are good as well, nothing up north for sure.

Just about every state has climate issues. I'm thinking more southern, yet inland, like northern Texas, or Oklahoma. You get too far north and old man winter bah. Too far east or west and you get salt spray. Florida may sound good, but again you get salt, rain, hurricanes, floods yuck. Maybe New Mexico, but then you have high temperature/Sun exposure...
I agree, California has a fully saturated car market, thus driving down prices, and increasing the chances of finding exactly what you want.

State is not important, how much time the car spends outside is.

Just in case you don't appreciate geography, Seattle is further north than Minneapolis/St.Paul (Portland is at the same latitude), and further north than all the other cities around the great lakes. Seattle is at about the same latitude as Quebec, further north than all the major Canadian cities (excluding Edmonton & Calgary, which aren't really very big). For that matter, Chicago is at the same latitude as the Oregon/California border! |

Same here. All of my cars have lived in the garage their whole life, but I'm taking my 335i up to Colorado soon and won't have a garage.
Texas is a decent place to buy cars. I'm in Houston so there is probably still some salt in the air from the Gulf of Mexico and I doubt the ridiculous humidity and heat is good for cars. My first car was a '93 Mercedes 300e which we ended up getting rid of because a bunch of parts were starting to get too rusted. The mechanic at the indy shop says that usually happens to cars around here when they aren't driven for long periods of time. The MBZ was garage kept its whole life but went through many 2-4 week periods of not being driven.

Any place that has nice weather.
I live in PA, but bought my car from Florida and had it shipped. Car was is beautiful condition and not really any rust or signs of bad weather.
