Who's debadging their M3/4?

I'm planning on debadging my M3 shortly after delivery. Although I like the look of the M tri colour badge on the trunk I feel there is something cooler about a debadged M car - a bit more discreet and less showy. Just my opinion.

Would be interesting to hear the thoughts of other owners on this subject- I am expecting there to be differences of opinion and maybe trends depending on the country you live in, for example here in Germany almost all M cars are debadged whereas in the UK it is much less common.

Just for fun, post up!

Why would you want to take the badge off? Be proud of having an M. You not going to fool anyone by taking it off.

It not about fooling anyone, I think it looks cleaner without the badge plus where I live in Germany all cars pretty much have the engine size deleted on the boot ( trunk) - it is almost perceived as bragging to leave your model designation on the car - like I stated different countries different opinions.

Those that know cars will know it's an M3 and those that don't know cars wouldn't care anyway.

By the way this is an option in Europe when you order the car ( model designation delete) - is it the same in the States? I ordered the car with the badge so I can put it back on in the future if I want to.

I plan to debadge because I also think it looks cleaner without the rear emblem. The fact that I ordered SO is loud enough as it is. Just want to try and fly under the radar

Fly under the radar with SO?

I'm YMB on SO with Black 19s. I'll be leaving the badges on.

I'm planning on taking off all the badges, including the side vents, and front grille. The only M badge left that would be visible from the outside would be the calipers

I wish you could order it fully debadged here in the US. I would've gone that route for sure.

Yep, most cars here are debadged. It's all about the understatement.

First, you won't do it.

Second, pics of proof once completed.

True, it's probably a 'cultural' thing, but the only Mxxx badged cars I see around are old pimped out 316's... understatement is key... I even see that more and more Porsches just have 911 on the rear iso Carrera xxxxx ... and to be honest, I don't mind it... it just makes it harder to see if I make a chance as all 328, 330d, 335d have the same exhaust tips... at least in the old days, the BMW exhaust tips where always a give away...

Is that really not an factory option? It's the only free option here, so we HAVE to check that box ...

The only cars that are debadged in Germany are 5-series (and alike) cars with a 1.8L (?) diesel engines in them. Mostly people are embarrassed that they have smallest engine available.

This has been confirmed by my fellow Germans.
