Why did you NOT get color X?

Here's an interesting way to look at the colors, instead of why DID you order a certain color, how about WHY NOT:

YMB- Can't Say, I ordered it!
SS- Would be second Choice for sure, but didn't pop as much as YMB
MW- Why pay for white when you can get Alpine for free?
AW- Too many of them, especially with the red, also, don't think aw will ever look as good on F80 as it did on Comp E92!
SO- not crazy about red cars, except on Ferrari's!
MG- For some reason, to me the carbon fiber roof does not pop as much!
BLack- Roof does not pop, way too hard to keep clean for my current situation, accents don't show as much!
AY- I wish i had the balls to get this, don't like color on m3.

My one reason for ever changing away from YMB is that it does remind me a bit of a kids car... at 27 i could still pull it off, but i do feel a bit out of place pulling up to a business meeting or dinner in this car..... but i definitely love the color

My side business will only pay me an $800 auto bonus for black or white. Black is too hard to keep clean. If I were not basically getting an M3 for free I'd most likely go blue. Love BMW blue. However AW looks really good with the CF roof IMO.

YMB - My Color. Luv it!
SS or MG - Gray just isn't a color to me
MW/AW - our F15 is MW and while it looks good, its one of 4,000,000 other white cars on the road
SO - Not digging the reddish/orange
AY - Mustard is a condiment, not a color
Black - My E90 was black and when clean is the best color hands down, again when clean.

YMB - Originally my first choice after being declined Atlantis Blue and LSB. Switched to SO after seeing it side by side. The color looks like a princess color (no kidding).

SS - Looked like a mercedes color for old people.

MW- Loved it but not flashy

AW - Everyone has this

SO - Flashy, Manly, and Burst of Flash. Love the way this color looks different based on the angle you look at. I've always wanted a red car; I would've gotten Imola Red but I've finally decided that the extra 5K$ to be spent elsewhere. The CF roof pops like crazy with this color. Color makes the car looks aggressive. Kinda wish there were better interior choices, SO/SO is no no for me. Went with SO/SS as Black leather was to cliche. Not to mention the tints will make this car look sex.

MG - Very clean and subtle look. Mixes very well with SO interior. CF roof doesn't flash.

BSM - Makes the CF roof useless in aesthetic; would be a great stealth car with tints but adding cf mods would make it look too silent. None the less, aggressive with stance. Hard to keep clean tho.

AY - Keeps making me think that this color would go Banana Yellow as it ages. I would have gotten it but I don't think anyone would take me seriously for driving a school bus :P

AW: Prefer MW, and again, bit boring.
MG: Like it also but still want color.
AY: Not really into yellow cars but admit it does look better in person.
BSM: Previous car was black. Personally black doesn't suit well on F8x.
SS: Not into silver cars.

Individual TB, STM, ABM, CQM: All look fine but wasn't compelling enough to spend more money.

Love Individual LSB, SMB, FO, LBB, Moonstone, Silverlake Blue. Worth it to me to spend more $$.

AY: I can admit that it's "ugly" on pics and never turns out right....BEAUTY in person and I would have regretted anything else. People need to stop saying "wish I could have the balls to pull it off".... just do it!
SS: LOVE Silverstone! Love how it has a bluish-silver hint when its overcast.
SO: True chameleon... looks too copper and brown when not in direct sunlight.
YMB: Seen it many times in person. Really love it in some light, and hate it in others(pastel/baby blue)
MW: Prefer Alpine over Mineral... too "Lexus-Caddyish" for me.
AW: Already have an AW X1.... too flat and overplayed.... who doesn't have an Alpine white F8x

MG: Can you say BLAH? Saw an M4 in this color and was really disappointed..
BSM: Had a 135I is BSM...never again. blends in with the lines of the car and swirls like a bitch!

YMB- Looked like baby blue in pictures, too light for my taste.

SS- Old car was Silver, got bored of it.

MW- Heard it was hard to match paint if you ever chipped the paint. Went with AW for simplicity.

AW- Was tossing up between MW and AW, AW Won

SO- I like it but its too flash, I prefer under the radar

MG- Probably my second choice after the white

Black- Had a navy car, dirt + swirls = Banned for life, won't go near dark colours again

AY- Not my colour

AW- BORING x 10 white cars are dime a dozen here

SO- Loud, flashy, stands out, looks like different colors depending on lighting.

MG- debated about this one too but didnt like how the CF splitters and accessories didnt have that much of a contrast

Black- I dig black but would be very hard to keep clean in the city, especially in the winter.

AY- Poor resale in this area

YMB- Chickened out as having it as the color of my Daily Driver. If I order another F8x, it will be YMB.
SS- First choice for my original build; love this color! It's unique, aggressive and understated all at the same time

MW- The car I traded in for the F80 was Mineral White and wanted a change
AW- Just had Mineral White and wanted a color change
SO- Looks sick in the sun but not my personal favorite in overcast/cloudy conditions.
MG- I like the color but my friend just picked up a 335i in the color (stupid I know). Plus I wanted contrast with the CF roof.
Black- Thought about it, but decided it would be too hard to keep clean (go figure).
AY- Sick color in person, but not for me.

In the end, none of this mattered because I canceled my original order for a Tanzanite Blue car on the dealer lot lol
