Dealer did a oil service - receipt says they put in 10w-60 oil?

To my knowledge the F90 engine oil should be 0w-30 5w-30 or 5w-40?

But i also found this on oilincar.com were it says 10w-60 is ok?

I would not run 10W60 unless you need it — live in a very hot area and drive hard or track the car. Otherwise, I would use the weight BMW specified or just slightly thicker.

I did have an E90M3 for which BMW specified 10W60 though I often ran 5W50, 5W40 or even 0W40 instead. Winter can be cold in my area and 10W60 cranked noticeably slower and was probably getting to bearings more slowly as well.

Thanks for your input.

Yes the the 10w-60 is definitely a thicker oil that Is used in the E60 M5 and i think also E90 M3 engines.

I saw now that there is a Bmw part number 83210398511 beside the oil weight and i did a search on it it's a Bmw 5w30 oil so i think im good.

Was at the dealer earlier this week and asked about this and they had put in 10w-60 but changed it out for a Bmw longlife-12 FE oil.
