What tire and wheel packages are you using for snow/winter time?

I plan to drive it in the snow also if I need to, previous BMWs I would switch out to cheap steel wheels and Blizzaks.

Should I consider smaller diameter, maybe 19" - tire rack doesn't have anytime available either

20 inch, same rims, I have two sets. Pirelli Winter Sottozero 285/35 rear, 275/35 front. Just got new set for rear. Have to get them mounted this month. Were great in snow. And not too back on the dry roads, but you can feel the difference.

If you want cheap, go with used stock 19” wheels (staggered or square) and square 275/49/19 Vredstein snows

I run the same setup, but they are 265 square, wheels are in orbit grey, and they were like $700 a corner, out the door. Alpins, mounted balanced. Fantastic setup for winter, better than my old Nokians on other BMWs.

Yup. I think mine were 750 a corner out the door. Then I had the wheels powder coated black. I would say they are a great winter tire, but not necessarily a great snow tire. The Pirelli Sotozeros have a more aggressive tread. I live at the top of a steep hill and really prefer to make it all the way home.

I never put my cars away for the winter. My first AWD BMW was a 2006 530xi with a manual transmission. Slapped on Blizzaks and that car took me everywhere. It's been AWD sedans for me ever since.......even in to the M850 and M5 range. I've felt totally confident with the proper rubber on. My 530xi would allow me to stop on my steep hill and chat with the owners of the stuck SUVs. Then I would wish them luck and accelerate into the gloom. Priceless.

That actually looks really nice, thanks. Now I have to order them.
Been looking for a winter setup for a while and my car is the same color with tints as well, love it.

Keep in mind if you have ccb 19s I don't believe fit over the brakes.

LOL. 1994 325is. Blizzaks first version. RWD was great in snow. ‘97 M3 5 years of way upstate NY driving. Blizzak v2 (longer lasting tread design). Was unstoppable in snow. But stopping is always the issue.

Snows are great. And winter performance snows are better.

I just realized will the 19" clear my brakes? I have non-ceramic ones

M5 with steel brakes were sold by BMW with 19” wheels except competition models, with 20” and 21” as options. Maybe some aftermarket ones don’t fit due to different rim or spoke design but the ones BMW made for the car obviously do.

Flow forms are cheap and lighter than stock wheels so it actually feels good. You may need spacers.
