The only F90 wheel weight that has shown up on realoem is the 19x9.5" wheel which is 13kg. I would expect as neither of the standard wheel options are forged that the 20" will be between 13kg and 14kg.
The Comp Pack wheels are forged so they might be a bit lighter. |

Thats about inline with the 601m versus the 343m in the previous generation. Plenty of other wheels from BMW such as the style 760 are also about 16kg.
The R101LW is damned near half the weight of the non comp wheels https://f90.bimmerpost.com/forums/sh....php?t=1512033 Vic - I'll be waiting to see what aftermarket wheels you get for the M5 |

R101's + Ceramics vs Non Comp wheels + Steelies = big change in dynamics of the car. Especially being AWD now.
Ceramics = 42lbs unsprung mass R101s = 70lbs unsprung mass HUGE |

https://f90.bimmerpost.com/forums/sh...13&postcount=3 You seem to be mistaken about wheels it seems to me, there's only 3 wheels for the car, the 19" 705M, 20" 706M, and 20" 789M. Both the 19" 705M, and 20" 706M in dual color variant and black are available on non Competition cars. 706M in black and 789M are the 2 wheels available on the competition cars. Only the 789M wheel is forged. 706M is cast. |

You just have to trust me my man... I was at the center of the fiasco where BMW falsely advertised the F10 M5 Competition Package wheels (601M) were forged when in fact they were not as people quickly figured out when they weighed them vs the 343Ms and found they were significantly heavier. Not to mention people would find cracking on the inner barrel of the wheel. I was lucky enough to have a dealer understanding enough before my car was delivered to get a replacement set of silver 343M wheels to replace the 601M's that were coming with the car.
Go back through any number of technical training manuals for a number of BMWs, any time they mention "light-alloy", it's a cast wheel. It will specifically say forged if they are. |

Yes, but given the weight of the wheels and the price ($3k), it is very unlikely they are forged. Also, it's not only somer pic specifically said they are cast. You will also find on BMW websites it specifically mentioned the new 789M wheel is forged (in CAPS), but not for the 706M wheels.

At least BMW did it the right way this time, the Comp wheels are forged! I would have been super keen on 601m if they were forged. |

+1 on scotty91ss' post
I weighed my stock 706s at 35.6lbs rear and 34.6 front so those weights definitely check. For anyone looking to lighten their wheels without breaking the bank check out the MRR forged series. I went with the MRR NES SS1.1. About a 3rd of the cost of the most expensive options. Quality has been great so far and no issues with the balance weights needed, used about the same amount as stock. I did stock widths and custom offsets (pushed them out 7mm up front and 4mm in the rear). MRR wheel weights ended up being 25.6 rear and 24.2lbs front using the same scale. I'll post pics in a month after my xpel and ceramic coat are done. I've driven on them for 6 weeks and I'm very happy with my decision so far. Not as extreme a weight savings as you get on the most expensive brands but lighter than the BMW comp wheels so I think it's a win. |
