Do you think the weight loss is to compensate for xdrive and because of this we will see similar weight?

E39 and E60 hit the nail on the head for best of both world cars. But the f10 went more for luxury and prestige and the new model seems to be even more so. I'm aware that my opinion doesn't matter to bmw but a manual is a criteria for me. I wouldn't buy an M car in a DCT as I feel it takes away from what the car is meant for (or at least was meant for). As an option it's great but to completely remove it breaks my heart.

No. The M5 does indeed have a wider track and slightly wider body.

Don't expect too much change in size. Wheelbase will stay close to if not the same but with better use of interior room. Even though CLAR is a new platform, there is still quite a bit of F0X DNA in it. Weight loss in critical locations will come from carbon core just as the G30, with additional weight reduction implemented for the M5. Weight distribution is also being further refined to offset the slight weight gain from areas it cannot be avoided.

Front Track and fenders are wider. I think we'll see just a bit more than 20mm this time however. Rear is still covered to tell what's going on there. Some clever camouflage and parts bin pieces stuck on to make it look either way. Car is definitely moving along and looks to be closer to locked in. Tire specs (275/40-20 - 305/35-20 std | 275/35-21 - 305/30-21 opt) can be seen so suspension static settings and kinematics are being finalized.

I've not specifically asked and no one has mentioned the F90 Chassis code but I have a good idea as to why.

Now...why are there so many G11's running around with F90 suspension and drivetrain?

I really hope this one(m5) and the upcoming M's will have a different exhaust sound. The current annoying sound of the m cars is the reason I don't buy them. I was considering the 2015 m5, but it gave me a headache after the driving... m4-m6 they all sound horrible.
They have to do smth about it. Does anyone have the same complaints? My friend has the m4 and he says the same.
The V sounds ok

It's going to be tough due to the intake manifold design, twin-scroll turbos (effectively 4 Turbos). This make the turbo and exhaust system more efficient bit cancelles out the pulsing or "burble". It's also a much smaller displacement V8. The current X5M and X6M have a bit of burble and barking that's controlled by the exhaust valves. It won't ever be a deep big displacement lumpy roar.

Uh no. Not even close lol. Twinscroll does not even remotely equate to two turbos.

I don't literally mean 4 turbos, the exhaust manifold design of the N63TU2/S63 is like feeding 4. Should have worded it better. Main point is an S63 Motor won't sound like the CTS-V.

Doesn't so bad nor does it sound great. It sounds like your typical BMW M car equipped with a turbo power plant.

Yeah I'm with ya. I expected it to sound dope as F since I'm used to my F80 m3 which I don't truly love the sound of. In all honesty, its not that much better, and it should be. *Granted I'm sure there is a lot of work to be done on the car and the exhaust may not be finalized. . . Hell they could be muling the chassis or the Xdrive platform with the old engine for now just to get R&D some feedback.

Its definitely too early for us to hate on anything, but I for one sincerely hope there is an AWD 6 (or 7) speed manual available

It's kind of high pitched for a V8 ... Does a lot of farting like the F80 though.

Sounds just like the current M5, which isnt surprising considering BMW is using the same S63tu engine, just tweaked a bit

Honestly, the only thing M can do to make the exhaust sound better is add some crazy, and I really mean insane, pops and cracks during throttle lift off, like the Jaguar F type. It doesn't make the car sound any better, but it sure as hell won't make the sound as boring as it right now in the current M3-M6 cars. I don't see any other way. When I drive an M car I want it to sound crazy. My opinion though.
