XR Prime Plus (no better tint period) 30% all around. 70% windshield and sunroof. Would have done darker but my guy didn't have 20% in stock. And I didn't want to wait. Was getting ceramic and ppf done by same place.
Had normal pinnacle ceramic on my X5 and this stuff blows that away. Just crazy good.

How does the tint look around the dot matrix areas?

I just had my windows tinted at a reputable shop and noticed there is a gap by the side view mirrors on both front windows.
Can anyone share a picture from this same angle to see if this is normal or not? I don’t see any light when looking from the inside out, but it’s very apparent looking outside in. |

Sorry for these crappy photos, but it’s the best I could do for now. I know they are extremely zoomed in, black car, black tint, at night time, but they do kind of show the tint goes all the way to the edge and there is no gap showing. I’m sure there’s someone more qualified than me to render an opinion on this, but this looks like a sloppy job to me personally and I’ll reiterate that I’ve never seen that on proper jobs on any of my cars. Im no expert, but it’s possible the window was not all the way in the closed position when they cut the film and applied it. Once the window was fully closed, the gap could be seen then. Do any other windows have this? Any more photos of the others?

Thanks for the pictures. It’s a little hard to tell since they aren’t up close, but I’m certain I’m not supposed to have those gaps.
Both front windows are like that so I’m assuming they used a poor template or didn’t take their time to tuck the tint further into the seal. Thinking back, I don’t remember seeing this on any of my previous cars. |

Again, apologies, I’m out of town so I had to zoom in on whatever few photos I already had (that even barely captured the angle to begin with), so these shots were not specifically taken to illustrate the point you asked about. But with how black all the surrounding parts are, you’d see if there was a significant gap like yours. Nonetheless, as you stated, it shouldn’t look like that at all. I’d be going right back to them for them to redo it. If both sides look that way, I’d rule out the possibility that your window wasn’t closed all the way when measuring and applying as I speculated above. It likely just wasn’t tucked back enough. Regardless, no reputable shop should send the finished product out the door like that. Hope this gets resolved for you. Keep us posted.
