Yeah I agree, the CS won't be too far off in price.

CS is the club sport. It's the variant that favors weight savings and performance over most else.

CS has not been released. Rumor was it was to be released at the end of this year. Seems unlikely, but we have five days.

If I want to buy a used 2018 m5 once my lease is up in April, the used m5s are pretty much around 80k or up on cargurus and cars.com, so was wondering maybe 70k offered by bmw is a pretty good deal.

I'm in a similar situation...
'18 M5 on lease up in May 2021.
38k miles, 45k on lease.

My thought process is that the car has been fun, but has not been without problems. Some may have been self inflicted by tracking it multiple times (extra creaks and rattles), some not my fault. Also, I spec'd this car with basic paint and interior. I'm turning this one in in May.

Additionally, I hate the direction the grilles are taking ala the 4 series. If I wanted an Audi, I would have gotten one.
That said, the LCI f90 is still pretty good, and doesn't look bad at all.
Therefore, I am spec'ing a fully individual paint and interior (Oxford Green over Caramel with light brown wood trim) LCI f90 on lease for May '21 with the intent that if the grille changes drastically on the next M5, I'll buy the new one out at lease end.
I also probably won't have as many miles since I have a dedicated track car/summer car now.

To OP,

Have you receive written confirmation that you can get a Caramel interior?

I would be surprised if you can get anything outside of what is offered on bmwusa. I asked about Individual options and was told different trims and leather color options are not available. I wanted more of a carbon fiber trim for the interior instead of the aluminum trims offered, and I was told it is not possible.

Not written yet, but according to my sales manager, they're just determining if there will be a price premium over the standard individual leather.

This is amazing. My sales person told me he could not order anything special. Does not make sense. I would have gone for a more traditional carbon fiber for the interior trim. I am still happy with what I ordered.

I went through this with my wife’s 530ix last June. Called dealer a d got BS quote. Then I called BMW Financial and got 5500 dollars off if I financed the balance witn them. It was a no brainer. Got the car cpo d and it has 15k on the odometer and the wife is still happy with it.

Let them know at BMW financial if you have owned other vehicles. I’m on my 3rd consecutive lease with them and it helped.

Good luck.

I'm in a similar situation. I plan on buying out my F80 lease at the end of 2021. Only reason I want to buy it out is because I've barely put any miles on it. By the end of my lease this year it won't have no more than 6k miles.

When you called BMWFS did you ask for a lower buy out or was it offered to you?

Do you mind sharing how you got it as CPO?

I just called BMWFS to request a buy out and when agent answered I asked for a supervisor. Very easy and they offered it after verifying my account.

Dealer CPOd the car. Forgot exact price. Maybe 2k and I had to purchase tires at an additional expense.

Same here with my daughter’s 330i. The car was as solid as a tank, had low mileage, and in excellent shape...so buying it was in the cards. I called BMWFS and without asking for anyone in particular etc., I inquired about the buy out. She put me on hold for a minute and came back with a 5k discount on the number. Done deal.
