I found an aftermarket winter set of 19" wheels and tires from TireRack. Not available on the website, but I did some digging into the manufacturers and then called TR. Placed order by phone. Full set delivered. I installed about 2 weeks ago and they have performed great in a crappy stretch of weather here in New England. Snow, slush, rain, salty roads. Mid-winter conditions and it's only November!
Anyway... went with a square setup BBS CI-R 19x10 ET25 112BCD Black with polished lip (grey is another choice) Bridgestone Blizzak 275/40R19 all around (it's a V-rated tire, but that's fine for everyday driving in the winter around here). Entire set, wheels, tires, sensors about $4k. Have put about 600 miles on so far. Ride is great. |

I used four wall mounted wheel hangers. Keeps the wheels flat against the wall so they take up less space than a rack that stores them perpendicular to the wall.

Yes it will freeze in winter but not worried when spring comes. I know people baby their summer tires but I never had any issues putting them outside. Plus I have wheel and tire warranty so that's a plus. |

What do you all think about the ride quality on the Sottozeros II? I have them in the OEM stagger 20".
I find that they seem to ride harder than my PZero summer tires. I normally drive in Sport mode even for just driving around and recently, I have been reaching for the comfort mode every so often. |

Nice M8 and where are you in CT? I'm 15 min from the Greenwich border, in Westchester. I also frequent Ridgefield, leading many a car club that I am in, around Titicus lake. Here's my Sotto Zero's in action, I was passing floundering SUVs on hills, w/ their sub-par all seasons.

I'm expecting my 2021 LCI on order to be at the dealer around the end of January, I looked on Tirerack and elsewhere for the Pirelli Winter Sottozero Serie II in the OEM sizes and they are gone already. Anyone have an idea if these will now be out of stock until next fall?

Just sold my range and until i find a replacement I have my M5 on Michelin ASC3+ and I love the tires. This is the third set I run on my BMWs for winter.

Just slapped on my SZ 2s yesterday and WOW, even on my 2nd winter, what a difference. I can now drive the car again in AWD MDM sport, due to the tremendous grip difference and the ride is so much better. The ride on sport, feels like or better than the ride in comfort w/ the stock set on. So much more of a confident feel, like a hot summer day w/ the stocks.
It's a must gents for nasty weather states like NY.

Is there any reason these wouldn't work? Tirerack says that these specific Pirelli's are not designed for BMW, but what does that matter if all the major specs work? |
