Upgrading the M35i, need advice...
Hi all, first post,
I, managed to purchase my first BMW roughly 2 months ago. I love the m35i but I really would like to be pushing 350-400hp. I have installed the JB4 today and realized I can't gain much power because I am still stock on everything. Have only tried the first map but I can't seem to feel anything on the butt-dyno. My mechanics recommendations: - CTs Turbo Downpipe - Air Intake - E85 (flex fuel?) I am still quite new to many tuning and upgrading aspects when it comes to cars in general, so I am open to opinions and suggestions. I have also not seen many videos on YouTube or general depictions of folks modifying their M35i's, is it that rare or is there some kind of catch to it all? Furthermore, I have agreed with my mechanic to charge me 50% of the labour everytime I take my car to BMW for a service. I have roughly 40k kms, under warranty till 200k/ late 2025. |

I would suggest getting an Intercooler or charge cooler first, then down pipe and tune.
Take a look at the link below, it should be helpful on what how to tune the car. https://bmwenginewiki.com/en/B48Wiki

There were a bunch of posts on tunes etc. Back 2019/20. Search for JB and they will come up or rice_rocket88. That should give you the names of the folks that were doing this
Good luck |
