Dinan Turbo Inlets - Cracking

Anyone else's Dinan Turbo Inlets starting to crack/discolor? I know discoloration is possible due to heat, but didn't know they would crack. The inlets were bought in Sep. 2021 and has been on the car less then 10k miles.

Wow...could you maybe claim it under warranty, not sure how long Dinan's warranty is on their products. I was thinking of getting the Dinan Turbo Inlets as well, but I may not after seeing this.

Usually cracking in the clear is a result of over tightening a clamp but the location of those is odd and doesn't fit the typical explanations. Contact the support/warranty folks @ 1-800-341-5480 and they will assist with a resolution.

I was thinking about installing these along with the Dinan cold air inlet. Would be interested in the outcome, please keep us posted.

Same. If this is going to happen in less than a year, I may have to rethink my decision.

Do not offer an alternative material. Carbon is used to tie in with the rest of the CF intake system primarily.

One off it appears. Checking through claims/tickets I see no other history of any such issue and there are hundreds of sets in the field.

As I mentioned the placement of the cracking (not near a clamp) and the style (not spidered like from an impact) is incredibly odd with no clear reasoning why it would have occured. Best guess is the UV/clear used on that particular set was anomolous in some way.

Got a response from Dinan and they said they will ship out a new one next day air once they become in stock. Love a company with awesome customer service. They also said they have never seen cracking with these turbo inlets before. Still high quality products. Maybe the one I have just has a defective resin.

saw the same kind of stuff on the Dinan F85 X5M intakes. literally the exact same cracks. and fingers crossed this is a one off but I'm sure we'll see more as time progresses and people look under the hood which lets be honest, probably most install and forget it, lol.

Thanks for the update and it is good to know that they stand behind their product. I will most likely be ordering once my car arrives.

So you saw same defect on x5m intakes-definitely not A good sign that it’s a one off case then.

Were those intakes also made from CF and from Dinan?

Yes. They're actually for sale in the F15/85 classifieds

Alternative solid reputable option - Eventuri. Love how it looks in my bay and haven't heard of any issues. Any product could have issues don't get me wrong … but I love Eventuri.
