I’ve never had any tech say anything about Bimmecode, and the presence of it is even more immediately obvious because of the red ambient lighting.

Went on a 20 minute drive with the shop foreman 4 or 5 months ago to show him a noise I was getting when my steering wheel was turned full lock. Also didn’t mention anything and just stated how much of a pleasure it is to drive while I sat in the passenger seat.

My SA is fully aware, too, obviously. As others have noted this is a pretty minor thing.

Red ambient lighting is not an option from the factory. You are correct, you can use BimmerLink to code in the red, then select the “bronze” option for ambient light color in iDrive. Ambient lightning will now be red.

I just re-watched that video, and it's funny I missed things I'm now noticing. I clearly need to paddle-shift more often.

12 years old and on a forum researching for Dad’s M5. Way to go kid, you’re a rock star. We’ll see you as owner here yourself in a handful of years I’m sure.
