body roll....ugh
328i on B16 PSS10s and Eibach anti-roll bars and still not happy with body roll. Don't get me wrong, it's a great set up and light years better than stock, but still frustrated with body roll...especially at slower speeds. It seems to be worse with passengers... Turn-in could be loads tighter too... I was very surprised with the Eibachs, it seemed like such an incremental upgrade. Really wish I had gone with H&Rs.
What should I try next?? Control arm bushings, sub-frame bushings, strut braces?? Ground Control adjustable end links are in the mail. Hopefully with no pre-load (I'm dropped 20mm or so) and upgraded end links the roll bars will work better. I'm not too concerned with NVH, I'm at 6 in the front and 8 in the rear on the B16s, so I have plenty of room to go softer. |

This must be a rhetorical question... because I'm pretty sure I described fairly accurately what I'm satisfied with and what I find lacking. Surprised? Yeah, me too. Last edited by DSH7; 08-21-2017 at 10:18 PM.. |

The only option is stiffer anti roll bars: H&R (28mm front/20mm rear), aFe (32/29) or perhaps Dinan (28/19) roll bars, but that will be at the expense of daily driveability. But as always in life there is a tradeoff, and in my experience stronger bars are nice on smooth surfaces, but they compromise stability on uneven surfaces by reducing suspension independence.

The Ground Control end links came today so I got started replacing the fronts. With the front links off I was surprised at how difficult it is to move the anti roll bar by hand. So I decide to go for a drive with the anti-roll bar not connected. Uhh, wow....no difference whatsoever. The car felt exactly the same! Let me repeat, the car felt the same with no front end links installed and the bar just hanging as it does with the 28mm Eibach fully connected to the suspension. WTF!
Is it normal to barely be able to move the bar up and down when not connected? I'm wondering if my bar was installed incorrectly. |

I would be too unless this is a way of saying "a guy that once worked for BMW now owns a tuner shop" You read that right because I'd RUN at that point!

But I can't for the life of me figure out why my car would feel the same without it even hooked up. Does anyone have any hand on experience with a disconnected bar? I would think the bar should swivel easily by hand between the lubed up bushings. |

Some indies do great work. I have to safely assume RWD but out of curiosity, do you have the adaptive suspension?
Based on what you've already done, I'm out of ideas but am also no pro; especially when going beyond what you have already done! (I haven't even dropped mine yet:/)
