HELP- Rear control arm?

So I was driving in the snow, turning a corner, my cars tail heads towards the curb, and my back left tire (driver side) hit the curb pretty hard, I got out to check the damage, just a small scratch on my stock rims until I started driving, my rear wheels kept spinning and sliding (felt like traction control was off but it wasn't) and my DTC light kept piping on, my front tires were incredibly unaligned to the point where I had to turn my wheel towards the left to drive straight.. After driving like this for about a mile my idrive notified my that my 4x4 and DSC "malfunctioned".. I've been by another user that its my control arm.. Any experts?

I can't get my car checked because I'm in Boston and we are currently battling a blizzard -.-

If anyone can help me with a diagnosis and give me a little info, I'd really appreciate it!

The EXACT situation happened to me during a snow storm two weeks ago. I slid on a plate of ice on the road and smashed into a curb only going about 20 mph. The same alerts appeared immediately after I hit the curb. The damage ended up being front passenger side inner & outer tie rods, front and rear passenger side control arms, and a new wheel (it was scuffed up pretty bad). I am going to assume that your damage would be similar. You would probably get a more definite answer once you can get it to the dealership/mechanic.

Check all four drive axles. You may have broken one...

Wow, sounds like quite a hit, my back tore was the only one that hit but I'm taking it in tomorrow to get checked, my rear driver side tore is lip sided but that and the fact my front wheels are only straight when I pull my wheel to the left is the only thing going on, the 4x4 malfunction only turns on when driving, I personally think it shuts off to protect the system (just my guess, unless I did break something major)

Do remember what you ended up spending for the tirod?

Check all your suspension links for bends. It could even be as simple as it being knocked out of alignment though

I took it to the shop today, it's there now, the back tire is sideways, looks stanced lol but I know I broke something..

I've seen camber arms on other cars fail and let the wheel sit sideways. The trailing arms are actually designed to crush on impact so that's probably what is broken if you hit a curb sideways. My guess is they're made to do that to prevent chassis damage, subframe tear out, etc... Let us know what they tell you

Still havent gotten the final damage yet as far as costs. Insurance is "working" the costs out. AND I STILL HAVENT GOTTEN MY CAR BACK... going on week 3. Sigh.

Hey everyone, got my car back today and these were what needed to be worked on

1. Track strut
2. Repaired suspension support
3. Alignment
4. Balance
5. Track strut replacement

I ended up paying $742.54 after MA tax, with all OEM parts

Glad it's fixed <3
