Radar constant laser alert
I just picked up my M5 last night and upon plugging in my radar (Max360) I'm hit with a constant laser alert.
I've read that moving to a different location in the windshield may help. Has anyone had luck with this? If so, where did you mount it? I also welcome any other solutions sans disabling laser detection all together. |

Don't quote me on this, but I think I've heard that the gesture controls for the iDrive can mess with the radar detector.

I already disabled those before plugging in the detector. My guess is that it is something to do with the advanced driving assistant since I didn't have this issue in my 2020 X3M

Yeah, even with the gesture control turned off there's still some kind of signal emitted. Try putting black electrical tape either over the gesture control sensor or the rear facing laser sensor on the radar detector. That should stop it, worked for me with my V2.

Where do you have it mounted? I have the escort 360 suction cup mounted directly below the rear view mirror, probably will do a blend mount soon, I have advanced driving assistance and gesture control on, I have never had any issues

Depends on your radar. My Uniden R7 has no issues with anything in my car. Quite honestly, if the tech in your radar is having issues with this it's probably time to get a radar with newer tech.

For now I've tried moving the detector to the right side of the mirror, which seems to work for now. I read another post about covering the gesture control sensors with some electrical tape, I'm going to experiment with that as well. |
