If there was a good interpretation of speed for a BMW art car, Jeff Koons all the way!

The only sense of speed I got from that car was how fast he painted it and then ran to the bank to cash his check!

My (worthless) opinion is that no true work of art can be completed in only 23 minutes.

I have always thought the Warhol ///M1 was overrated, and now that I know that he painted it in less time than it takes me to drive to the office in clear traffic, I now know why.

When Warhol said it represents "speed", he was certainly right. Drive-thru art car! Painted while you wait!

I have no opinion about whether the Warhol car looks good or not, but you guys that think the amount of time he spent on painting the car determines whether it is real art or not or any good, just don't understand the creative process.

Almost every true artist will tell you the best paintings and drawings are the spontaneous ones that are sketched quickly and in the moment. Anytime you try to do a "second draft" of a powerful, spontaneous sketch, it loses its immediacy and some of its power. That's just the way art works.

It's similar to other non-scientific endeavors - be it music, or basketball or whatever, when you do something in the moment, the results tend to be great. When you over think it... not so much.

After a late night cocaine and champagne fueled bender Warhol ingested the paint and regurgitated it 23 minutes later over the m1..............and voila! Take this art world!

The hand prints are when he tried to hold himself up after he was done.
