Turbo Intake Filter Removal?
Hi,
Recently on the Facebook F90 owners' group, someone suggested that removing the pre-turbo filter is a 'no brainer'. It was something I hadn't even thought about (although I'm not deeply into modding). What are the thoughts of this group? Aric

I think you might be referring to the charcoal filters, right? You definitely do not want to remove the air filter or you'll get stuff sucked into your turbos and I am no expert but that's going to cause major problems. If Charcoal filters you have this:

I removed mine. Noticed a little more intake noise, didn't notice any other difference in throttle response or anything like that. Worth it for the noise

That was easier than I hoped it would be after reading the thread where some people seemed to fight with a step or 2.
I would modify the directions slightly to not bother removing the flex hoses. Once you loosen the star drive screws on the airbox, you only need to tip it up a couple inches to get a flat screwdriver into the lid and pop out the charcoal filter. |
