Comp ride vs Non

So when I got my '18, back in 6/18, there was obviously no comp offered. Now that there is less than a year to turn in the lease, I have my sights sent on a '21 (or '22 if out) comp. I drove a '20 comp last fall, in an M related event, but it was mostly all highway. Loved it though, the sound, the black outs, rear spoiler, etc. Power difference was negligible, 17 more HP from 600, really can't be felt. For those in my position that switched, how's the ride really compare on a day to day, given this is my DD and the roads in NYC metro, SUCK! I'm mostly in sport mode, but in certain spots on a daily, I switch to comfort....

You drive in Manhattan? Respect man, I can't imagine driving there. Once parked here and there in the city for a day and it was nearly $200 for parking

LOL, thanks and I've been driving in Manhattan since i'm 17, now I am 50! Back in the day (80s), i'd drive dump trucks and flatbeds w/o a CDL license. Now, I'm in the "City", maybe once twice a week, but NYC metro is a vast area, that covers the 5 boroughs and the Neighboring counties. I'm mostly in the neighboring counties, which are equally as bad. The weather devastates the roads....

Well I have not come from a pre-LCI M5 in terms of ownership, but I can tell you that the suspension in the ‘21 is very nice. I previously owned both a ‘13 (e92) M3 and a ‘15 GTR, and the ride comfort in the M5C is much better than both those, even though the GTR was really pretty good, in comfort mode. I’ve heard people complain about how harsh the ride in the M5C is, but I think maybe those were pre-LCI models. To me, the M5C in Sport+ suspension = the M3 in “comfort”.

Im out in the sticks and we also have shite roads, I have driven both and found the non-comp quite a bit more comfortable.

I started a whole thread about this....the pre-LCI M5C ride is much harder in comfort. The LCI M5C borrows the adaptive suspension and shocks from the M8C. The difference is noticeable in comfort.

This is great to know, so the LCI is MY '20 and on?

But you changed your springs, so apples and oranges.
I'm leasing and have no intent on modifying....

True but comp sits a little lower, not as low as H&R springs but thought you'd get the idea.

2021 in the US, though I believe they consider this same model (the LCI) the 2020 in Europe, so if you come across some British review vids on YT or what not, they will be calling it a ‘20.
