2021 M5 Base with 19" wheels

I stopped by my local dealership yesterday and saw a Brands Hatch Grey M5 with 19's. Overall I really liked the way they looked on car and did not look to small. I normally only see 20's on car and could not imagine it would look ok without them.
Anyone else on 19 inch wheels and if so, how is the ride.

20's are right size / maybe slightly too small for such a large car. The 19's look ridiculously small imo

I think that's the winter wheel setup. I have the same set. IMO, it looks fine, though a little less aggressive than the 20 setup.

I made them switch the wheels on my M5 to the 19's before I would buy the car. Love them. They look great and the ride is terrific. I don't like any of the 20's that BMW offers for the M5.

Those aren't the winters. Those are the standard 19's that come new on some cars.

They really looked great on the car in person. The color of the wheels matched the paint great and did not look small. Really am considering these if this is the car I chose.

I see. Looks like it's specific to the non comp M5; the comp does not provide the 19"s.

I have 19"s for winter, they look so ridiculous it's not even funny. But since it's 2020 the car's basically in hibernation mode already so no winter setup this year

I wanted the 19's because they are less prone to damage, offer a better ride, and in my opinion look much better than the 20. The dish is more pronounced in person than in pictures, and looks terrific. Younger people than me (and that includes almost everybody) are more concerned about getting what's in style at the time.

The one drawback to the 19's is the unavailability of the better performing and longer lasting Michelin tires in the 19" size. Mine came with Yokohama, which has terrific performance, but the rears only lasted 12,000 miles before needing replacement. On top of which they're more expensive than the Michelin.

The good news is that wheels are easily replaced in accordance with whatever your mood dictates.

I agree, they are more pronounced in person and actually look good from all angles.

I ordered my 21 M5 with the standard 19" wheels, and didn't like any of BMW's 20" options, so I ordered 20" BC Forged RS45s.

Agreed. They fit the car perfectly and give it a sportier look than the 20" options IMO. The 20's look like luxury sedan wheels to me. 19's were a must for me. Note, because of the taller sidewall (which I also love) the circumference and footprint of the tire is nearly identical to the 20's, so you're not giving up any grip.

I considered doing some HRE P107s in 20" on my M5, but I discovered that the car really needs to be dropped a bit to get the full look I wanted with the HREs, and I have no interest in messing with the suspension on the car.

The HREs look good.
I don't like the milled face, two tone design of the stock 19" and the Competition's stock forged 20".
If it needs a drop, apparently the M5 H&R springs don't make the ride that much stiffer, the M550i H&R ones maybe too much.
