Thank you ! When you get a chance if you don’t mind can u post a pic of the hook tube you used ? I need to get one like yours. A shop Is telling me 300 to do transfer case but screw that I have quick jacks the transfer case is exposed it’s easy if I get the right hook tube to get in there.. thank you for your help!

Did you have anything supporting the trans when you removed the support per the BMW manual? Not sure if anything will fall on me once I remove the support

Then you overfilled it by an entire liter. The instructions specifically say that if you fill to the edge of the fill plug, the rear differential will be overfilled.

Most likely if you put back what you took out, tge jevel hs fine—unless someone else overfilled it previously. I did not put a camera in there to see what the level is before the fill port. I tend to think it would not hold an extra liter but have not verified that.

You might want to check the volume on those bottles. If you actually got 2 liters out of the rear diff, it was overfilled. You can always call your dealership parts department and ask for rear diff fluid capacity to confirm.
