One more '21 M5C on order, no PCD for me

Hey folks,

Production has started on my new M5C, so I figured I'd say hello. This is my first new BMW, but not my first BMW. I started out with a CPO E92 335i many years ago, which I sold after moving to NYC back in 2012. After living without a car for many years, I picked up a 2019 MINI Cooper S a few years ago, which has served me well and is honestly a fantastic car for getting around the NYC area. Especially with the JCW Tuning Kit and exhaust (let me know if you're in the market for a MINI).

Anyway, my wife and I have made the decision to move from NYC to Seattle, so I felt I could finally justify picking up an M car, especially with a cross-country road trip looming. Might have to figure out how to schedule the break-in service on the way.

Build specs:
  • Brands Hatch Grey Metallic
  • 20" M Y-spoke forged bi-color wheels
  • Black Full Merino Leather with Midrand Beige
  • Aluminum Dark Carbon Structure trim
  • Competition Package
  • Driving Assistance Plus Package
  • Executive Package
  • Bowers & Wilkins Diamond Surround Sound System
  • BMW M Performance Rear Spoiler Pro - Carbon Fiber
  • BMW M Performance Rear Diffuser - Carbon Fiber
  • BMW M Performance Exhaust System - Titanium

It looks like I'm facing the same issue others are where ordering the Rear Spoiler Pro necessitates addition of the nearly-$3,000 front splitter, so I'll probably pull that off the list and have the dealer install it instead.

I think I've watched just about every Youtube video about the F90 M5 at this point. I imagine the anticipation will become unbearable once the car gets loaded onto a ship.

Looking forward to yakking incessantly about this car with everyone here.

Nice build man! You've got a helluva of drive coming up, but should be pretty fun with the M to help you along the way! I drove from Miami to Los Angeles back in the day and it was a great trip.

Thanks for yet another datapoint on the splitter and pro spoiler, which does not bode well for my build either! Looks like it will have to be installed at the dealer then.

And I am with you on the YT videos and researching, etc. I think I watch the same videos everyday now lol.

Nice build, the wait has not really been that bad for me. My car arrived at the US port yesterday so I should be in the car next weekend I hope.

Out of curiosity, why are you leaving NYC?

Mostly just looking for a change of pace. We've been in NYC for over a decade and while we love it, we'd like to be closer to family on the west coast, have easier access to the outdoors (skiing, hiking, etc.), a little more square footage for our dollar, etc.

I'll always love NYC, though.

Seattle is great, used to live in Bellingham.

I’m in NJ now and def prefer the west coast.

Best of luck on the move

I laughed a bit at the “more square footage” note. Seattle is not exactly cheap either.

No state income tax though
