It sucks compared to the BMW Connected App.

Really? I think it is an improvement. What are the cons?

This just became available in the US yesterday. Before that we just had BMW Connect. My connected and so far works well. I do not plan to use it a lot, but the one feature I like is the ability to add a personal picture as an avatar in iDrive.

There's a sheet load of marketing/sales crap, and there's no remote view gallery, you can't share or download the pic. No additional functionality on the front end, in fact lost some... rubbish.

This is not entirely true. While there is no gallery, you can download or share remote view pictures by clicking on “details” when you’re viewing the remote view picture, clicking on the specific picture you want to view or download, and then clicking on the share/upload icon at the top right of the app.

How do you remote view in the new app? I’m not seeing it anywhere.

Swipe left where you see “vehicle finder”. There are more options.

Software weenies. Change for the sake of change. How about leaving the front end user interface unchanged and just fix the background stuff that needs updating. Offer the good old "classic view" for the installed user base and your new fancy different-to-be-different user interface for the technogeeks. When they put form over function you get a poorly functioning user interface with a fancy new 'look.'

For what it's worth, the BMW app is MUCH better than the Porsche app, and BMW does not charge you for that service.

Yes, but this means sending individual pics i.e. front, rear, left, right. All fish eye.

Whereas on old app you can take remote pic, it stitches it all together for all round view.
You can then rotate to the angle/view you want and then share/download.
That was nice bit of functionality.
Being able to add a pic as an avatar...I don't really care for

Well hopefully on the next upgrade the features you want will be added.
