crack or cosmetic
While cleaning my car I discover this damage but can’t tell if it’s just cosmetic or something more?

that looks like chewing gum thats been slung onto the wheel

I wouldn't feel too comfortable driving that around at high speeds. Just take it into the dealership and see what they say. Could be a manufacturing defect with the wheel that finally got exposed with enough heat cycles.

probably just needs a respray but get someone to have the wheel off the car to check the backside too. a kids probably gone over it with a stone or something. if the edges of the paint are rough then its probably just cosmetic
