So I got my new and first ever M5 F90 2022 on Monday and it's gone into garage to be ceramic coated, internals protected, CF parts put on etc.

It's not back till Monday and I miss it already!

I drove my E63S today (which I love) and it didn't fill the hole!

Congratulations enjoy in great health. I just received my 2022 today after 10 days in shop for xpel, tint, ceramic coating. I thought I was going into depression.

So spec (UK) is:

MBB external colour

Performance Carbon Fibre external parts - pro rear spoiler, diffuser, front grill, splitter and side bars

I have ordered a Akraprovic exhaust, but doesn't get fitted until December (Akra are saying they are testing for changes to 2022 model)

Internal: Silverstone Merino, piano black finish

Packs:
Comfort pack plus
Visibility pack (Laserlights)
Technology plus pack
Blue callipers

As I say, it's in for coating so will post pictures next Monday when it's been finished but absolutely love it!

When you say you are having an Akra fitted, are you going for the whole system ?. Just wondering about the OPFs etc.

I believe so given the price! Though I have actually asked for that detail as wondered myself. They have said it's been designed to be compliant with the OPF and regs, but I've asked for more detail. I haven't added the optional sound switch which the fitter thinks is over kill?

Hmm, further info from dealer has got me thinking whether it's worth the money? Problem being is the M Performance exhaust still isn't available in UK and my BMW dealer can't give me a date for when it will be. I'm not messing with OPF at this early stage!

Dont want to spoil your fun, but that wont be suitable for your M5, because of the OPFs. If you are not tuning the car, by remap etc, which im not 100% sure you can do anyway atm, although there have been ramblings of the new Bosch ECU being cracked, the best you can do with the exhaust is a rear silencer.

Thanks, I've asked for categoric confirmation about the OPF, no way I'm paying that cost if it doesn't and it doesn't sound good!

Have a look at the AC Schnitzer rear silencer, or the Remus rear silencer, which is exactly the same thing, just with different badges. And i agree, the Akra is just too expensive. I dont think you will see another MPE for our car.

It even says on that advert you posted, it doesnt fit OPF cars. You still wont get pops and bangs either, as they are mapped out on the LCI, will just be more V8 goodness thats all.

Much appreciated. The BMW dealer actually recommended the Akra and I got him to confirm that there wouldn't be a warranty issue on email but to end fair, it's sounding like it could get messy, which is the last thing I want!
