I wouldn't call them exotics, but I've got a few 60's mbz coupes passed down to me from my father; this 68 4 spd 280sl Pagoda being my favorite to drive of the bunch. This specific one has the largest engine option available at the time; a 170hp inline six, coupled with a 4 speed manual, a short and wide chassis, amazing suspension and brakes for the 60's. It was fast for its time.

That being said, the fun factor is through the roof. Ripping through the canyons of Mulholland, shifting the gears with the top down on a warm summer night, is an amazing feeling. I can understand the love affair with these older cars. They truly do have something special that today's cars lack.

I recently had it completely restored. It took about 14 months and I just got it back a few months ago. I drive it pretty hard. Runs like a champ.

Gets delivered this week. I ordered the car in October. Taken a while to receive. I have the 765 and a new turbo S incoming this month.

Should be a good summer.

i love the diversity of your garage. It's always funny to hear people bashing american vehicles such as the Vette. I loved my c7z06, and even though the 600LT has replaced it, i can still see myself going back to the Z someday. People need to wake up, some very badass cars out there. Enjoy that 765.

Agreed. Absolutely nothing wrong with the Vette. I especially like the new c8, and have always had a soft spot for the c5 Z06.

Thanks man. I just like to try different cars and see what sticks. Right now if you can secure allocations at MSRP there's never been a better time to try since the price of limited production cars are through the roof on the secondary market.

And another rule of car ownership. Everything is cool. I don't care if I'd want to own it or not. Are you into old Porsches? Cool. American muscle? Cool? New Ferraris? Great. I don't care. As long as you don't lust jealously after other people's cars and approach this whole game with a good attitude there's room for everyone. Just like collecting watches or anything else.

991.1 GT3RS, mainly used as a track car with the odd road drive thrown in.
