A DIYer! Consider adding an aluminum mesh guard over the large windows in the Turner skid plate.

I was looking at ordering one of these a few days ago. It is currently on sale for $505. Definitely should add the mesh. I think I will skip the two sides covers though.

The Turner is aluminum and flimsier than the IND or CSP or similar steel plates.

I gotta do that, was impatient to install them and see how they’d fit

Mid section is more than enough too

I don’t find it being flimsy, pretty solid piece

I installed mine about a year ago. I liked the direct bolt on and the fact that it was complete with wings. But aluminum is not a strong as steel and this part with its massive windows with thin aluminum straps riveted in place is definitely not as study as the IND or CR Racing options. It is probably good enough to deflect most objects, once modified with mesh. I bought the mesh, but have not installed it yet. Hope to have more time for projects soon since I just retired.

definitely seems rather useless without the mesh. if youre running over something large enough for those 3 aluminum strips with rivets to stop then i think you have bigger issues to be concerned with. at least with the mesh you increase the surface area of deflection and greatly decrease the size of object youre able to deflect.

Here is mine. Turned out pretty good. I could have cut the grid shorter but decided to leave it. Used black spray paint with texture. So far pretty happy with the result.

Looks good. I still have to install my mesh. I like the black paint. Looks like you used just 3 rivets. Are you relying on the tight fit against the cooler and to secure the mesh?

Yes, and the way the mesh landed i didn’t really needed the rivets. It landed right in line with the skid plate’s rivets but I just wanted to make sure it doesn’t move or bend against the cooler hoses. Btw i have to add a piece of rubber aroud the hoses because 2 bolts will line up right against them. Other than that was pretty easy and so far my temps are the same.
