It ended up going away after a couple days. I was super lazy and just never got around to erasing in BimmerLink. Then boom it was gone.

Got the CEL after getting these installed, but it went away on its own. Recently came back, and dropped the car at the dealer for an oil change, some other niggling issues, and the CEL. Sure enough, the inlet seals were worn/failing. Will take up with MattMatt@AUTOcouture and go from there, and either replace with new seals, or go back to OE.

Presumably unrelated, but the tech this afternoon said the head gasket had a small leak too, but they will address it Monday...

100%. Not sure it’s anything to do with the turbo inlets, but I’ll have more info on Monday

I doubt the 2 are related. Hope it is a misdiagnosis and that that problem is something else. Have not read of any HG issues on these cars.

Yeah I’m hoping once the tech takes a closer look, the head gasket is fine. The SA said the tech “thinks” there’s a HG leak, but it was basically shop closing time, and he would confirm Monday. Would be odd since the car has been running just fine, and I’ve not noticed anything weird, like typical HG leak symptoms, but we’ll see.

What’s funny is the SA went through the few things I brought it in for, and ended with, “Oh, and the tech thinks there’s a head gasket leak.” In my head, I was like, “Maybe open with that??”

I’m even more confused because on Eventuri website it mentions that the inlets does not add any additional horsepower when combined with their intakes.

The only thing they mention is a 60-130 reduction…

In any case, the dealer knows the shop who installed mine, and they actually send clients there all the time, so they said take it there and they should sort it out, as this is just a fault being thrown by the gasket failing, and there’s nothing mechanically wrong with the car (except that seal of course, which the ECU detects).

I reached out to Eventuri for advice, since this is the kind of thing I can do myself at home, so we’ll see once I het the new gaskets.

They responded quickly when I emailed them, and priority shipped new gaskets right away. This is the email response (keep in mind my inlets were among the first shipped out, and newer ones don’t seem to be affected).

Yes this is well documented on here that the new seals have a significant fail rate. 6 tiny screws and 2 seals later all good. May need to go in and erase all existing codes as my cel didn’t simply go away on its own.

Yup, that’s what they said. Not sure why the screenshot of the email didn’t post, but they also said to loc-tite the screws after putting them back in. I don’t know that I will, at least until everything is back to normal, but maybe at some point.

Hmm they didn’t tell me that haha. They weee a bitch to put back in. So tiny and not magnetic. Dropped one. Thankfully was able to recover.

forgot to upload pics of replacing the gaskets. driver side a bit easier, as the inlet came out pretty easily to work on the breather box, but passenger side I couldn’t get out without taking down a bunch of other stuff, but was able to get a small Torx in there to open the box and put the new gasket in that side. No dropped screws! I did not Loctite them as Eventuri suggested, but they are pretty fine threads, and seat well, with no gap after install, so not sure it’s necessary?

Anyhoo… got one pic with the original gasket next to the new one. New one has a much smaller aperture, so guessing that’s what the software thought was a “leak”. No CEL so far, was getting it every few days before (and clearing with Bimmercode).
