Passenger seatbelt rattle
When the passenger seatbelt is left to dangle, which is the natural place it falls to when the passenger gets out, it rattles like hell no matter how I’m driving. I can avoid this by pulling the seatbelt over the passenger side of the seat, but the car is too wide to do this from my own seat so I need to get out, walk around and do it.
I’m sure you guys have a better solution as I imagine everyone’s passenger seatbelt would be just as bad as mine? Paul |

Mine does the same and it is annoying but not as annoying as the other rattles that are more difficult to find. The only solution I have found is to plug it in or hang it over the bolster.
Every time I have a passenger I need to remember to pull the belt back over or it will knock against the trim. |

One of the few positive things of being 6’6 is that I can reach it If the seatbelt is all straightened out, the buckle hangs without touching the plastic and doesn’t rattle. The problem is, it’s close to impossible for the belt not to get twisted when used or unbuckled.
Usually I just lean over and straighten it out, so the buckle doesn’t hit the plastic lining there. Funny that it’s been like that on the F10 as well and they haven’t fixed it. |

Same thing in the F90s I had and have and in the F10. Known issue over all the forums in Germany. Stick some fabric to the pillar or live with it.

What location exactely? I have one from the back cover of the passenger seat which can easily be solved... bit there's another one or two... only appears like two times out of ten and yet sometimes annoying.

I do not know. I would have a look at where the seat belt hits the pillar and stick some felt-like material onto the pillar.

I hear ya. I had my kids back there put their hands on the 3rd brake light when I heard it and that was it. I have my exhaust valves permanently open so it's fairly loud on a cold start. That's when I noticed it most. I think it might have been when they tinted my rear window. They might have pulled that housing off snapping some clips. But regardless, the dealer fixed it.

checked again today on way to Mass, it appears to be just behind the rear dome light assembly. That is at about the end of the sun roof mechanism. Need to peak under that by removing the rear hatch over the brake light. I have had that off before (installed dash cam).
