Driver seat retract upon exit
Is there a way to set your driver seat to automatically move back upon exiting? Headrest moves back but not the seat.
Odd how a Maxima automatically does that but a BMW M5 doesn’t. |

I don't think that there is an 'exit' setting. But, it looks like you have an F10 M5 so they might know more in that section. F10 M5 Forum
However, you could set your second memory seat setting to further back.

I configured button number 2 so that the seat goes back and the steering column goes all the way in to have more room to enter/exit the vehicle. Pretty annoying but I got used to it. |

I have a 2021 and the following is in the instruction manual.
To make it easier to enter and exit the vehicle, the steering wheel moves temporarily into the upper position. I could not find any mention of the seat moving. In my car only the steering wheel moves as described. |

It is buried under the "Upper Backrest" Section:
General information If the driver's door is opened when the drive- ready state is switched off, the upper backrest moves into the basic setting This annoys me because the backrest moving makes it hard for my kid to get out of her car seat. It took a while to figure this out: 1. The seating wheel moves based on pressing the ignition (off or on) 2. The backrest moves based on buckling the seatbelt or opening the door. #GermansMakingStuffOverlyComplex My procedure is: 1. Get in car 2. Close door (gently because soft close) 3. Press ignition 4. Buckle belt 5. Wait for seat to reach position (sometimes it does not, in that case press the #1 seat button) 6. Wait for cold start to end 7. Release Parking Brake 8. Shift into gear 9. Request clearance to push back |

My driving position is the steering wheel set to the highest point, so when I enter or exit the car nothing moves, I would love to have the seat move back automatically when exiting and move forward after I get in the car and press the start button. If anyone know how to set this up, please give your help.

Call me old fashioned but I would not want it to move every time I exit as this would put unnecessary wear and tear on the motor.
