Awesome. Its great we wont have to wait forever to explore more of the cars capabilities.
After getting it set up under the hood and driving it a few miles, it is noticeably faster. Last edited by M5speed; 06-15-2018 at 04:46 AM.. |

No. Ive been running 100 octane though and together with the tune, its incredible. The rear end almost broke loose on the highway at 80mph in 2wd mode over bumpy roads.
The car is beginning to outperform its driver I hate to say. Fun though nonetheless. Ill get it to a dyno once I find one nearby. |

You have TDI,Manhart,JB4,Vivid.......not much real info out except for JB4 and it's not good info. 15:1 AFR, throttle closure, etc, etc is not a good sign that the new M5 will be piggy compatible. I've been waiting on RaceChip, but I hope no news isn't bad news.....

Track conditions were not good. It was near 85 degrees and 100% humidity. Hard to slow that bastard down! Barely had enough space to do it. Need to take it back on a cooler day or at night. Last edited by M5speed; 07-07-2018 at 11:05 PM.. |

The car does its best when running cool and I had to drive an hour in the car before doing the runs which Im sure made it run hot. I did adjust the tuning a bit with the controller near the track trying out different levels of tune which could have confused the ecu. Whats even more confusing is that I had 100 octane in the tank as well. Had about a half a tank. Last thing also could be that I have a wider set of HRE wheels. It has 11" rears and 10" fronts, comparing to the 10.5" and 9.5" standard set up, but the wheels should still be lighter. I agree something doesn't stack up. Most tunes from what I recall have a specific program for running high octane gas and the tune seems temperamental, working way better when cool. Last thing was the track, which was trying to launch from an old track barely kept up with a half inch of caked up rubber on it everywhere. I'd probably be better served getting a dash mounted timer and fucking around getting times on some country roads somewhere on a cool evening or morning. |

Launch control did not work once. It had before, but this time no. Had it in all sport plus settings, traction control off. I found this tool as well http://www.dragtimes.com/da-density-...calculator.php here's what it came up with - Correct your ET and MPH using the DA (Beta Testing) Extensively Modified Supercharged and Turbocharged Engines 11.003 @ 128.317 MPH Read more: http://www.dragtimes.com/da-density-...#ixzz5KfvZMWcv If thats right, you could subtract a tenth for the extra weight to be at 10.9. It would have been helpful probably if launch control would have worked, but even if it had, it usually wouldn't have worked consistently. Still seems slow, especially considering the high octane gas. Last edited by M5speed; 07-08-2018 at 10:01 AM.. |

I was thinking Id be blown away at the track after driving it the day before and noticing the difference with the tune. Getting it on a dyno would help tell a lot more.

Did you run fairly soon after arriving ? If so, the brakes should hold well when hot. If you let the car sit for 2 hours < then try a WOT launch, it creeps forward with cold brakes.

In still not sold on this tune, however it did increase power a lot. Need to get it on a dyno to see real data on what its putting down. |
