How long have people seen their cars sit in "awaiting carrier assignment"?

Congratulations! My car has been sitting in 'at port' status for a number of weeks now. Hopefully, it will be loaded on a boat soon since Christmas is over. At this rate, I'm expecting to hopefully get my car in late January.

I'll cross my fingers for you.. mine completed production on 10/11 and just got on a ship on 12/26. I hope yours gets out of the port quicker!

I saw that this morning.. I'm hoping that the weather may have been factored into the anticipated arrival date?? At this point I just figure any possible delay that could pop up will and at this rate I might be able to skip the whole snow season before I take delivery, lol.

After waiting a month at port. my car is finally showing In Transit. How do I track which ship it was loaded on and the status of that ship? I see how others have listed their ship name, but I'm not familiar with how to get that information.

You can check with your CA or you can call BMW genius to get the vessel name. Then just Google the ETA. Hope it helps

Delayed a couple of days but tomorrow looks like the day!

My dealer thinks he'll have it by Monday so I should be driving it within a week ... I hope!

The worst part is when I pick it up I'll drive it about 5 miles down the road and drop it off for a few days to get PPF, tint and ceramic coating done, lol.

How much for your PPF and coating? I was quoted 6500. I'm not so sure about tint% but def gonna get some work done before summer.

I would call BMW Genius and confirm. They told me my car was "At Port" on October 17th and awaiting a ship.

I called Genius and they told me it was due to arrive at the dealer on October 21st!

The tracking system is all dealyed you would be surprised.

I'm not sure yet. my buddy owns the detail shop that I use and he usually gives me a pretty good deal, especially having him do all three things at the same time.

I wish I was surprised but it ended up getting on a ship on 12/26 and arrived in NJ today. I figure about a week until I see it at my dealer.

Funny thing about that. So my ship is here docked at United States and the tracking from mybmw actually went a step backwards to at port from in transit. This could be the part you saw and skipped the whole part on the boat.. 🤣

The tracking app seems to be messed up again. My vehicle showed as 'In Transit', but when I called BMW Genius, they had no record of it being loaded on any vessel. It then went back to 'At Port'. You would think BMW could fix this app to be more accurate, and add additional data like the vessel the vehicle is on. It would save a lot of calls to BMW.

Hey brother, yes I picked up my car on Wednesday, then I took it straight to the detailer. I snapped some pictures but a little shy to post haha. It is glorious... Didn't even peel off the stickers yet lol. I miss her already. Will get her back next week!

Absolutely post pics of it!

went to check mine out and take care of the paperwork on Saturday and should be taking delivery tomorrow. they were going to mount my snow tires on it before I pick it up.
