New Deal Advice
New 2023 BMW M5 ~$125K in MSRP, no discount.
Equity Trade In value of current lease ~$7500 Price being quoted is $1650 with $3200 upfront after Equity applied. Lease Hackr shows this as 5.1 score, can I do better? Thanks in advance! |

Not sure about leasing...
I negotiated just above invoice in late Feb for my build (delivery probably sometime in June). Most dealers I spoke with (before settling on the one I went with) were willing to adjust pricing some off MSRP... SF Bay Area. . . for reference. Good luck! |

just out of curiosity, why don't you sell the current lease to the dealer then renegotiate a separate deal with 3200 out of pocket? seems like theyre pocketing 10700 on this deal.

So what they are saying is that the
Taxes are $4500 upfront Down payment of $2000 First months payment + bank fee dealer etc.. which tools to about $10,700 after $7500 of equity that comes out too $3200 Without the downpayment and equity trade in Id walk away with the car and first month would already be paid for but the monthly price would be $1748 Residual value is about 57% |

You’re still putting a lot of money down at the end of the day, even if it doesn’t feel like it because of the trade equity. If your bigger concern is just getting the car while you can, then I say go for it. But if you’re looking at securing a “good”/aggressive deal, I don’t think this is it. They’re trying to make it seem like a good deal by “reducing” the amount from $10k+ to $3200. Again, standard dealer tricks. Hard to know if the $1650 number you get to for putting all that money down is a good deal without a listing, window sticker, or comprehensive equipment list, even if you’ve given us the MSRP. Please post these if you have them so we can give you a more concrete answer! Other questions that we need answers to before knowing if it’s a good deal…lease term, mileage allotment, and money factor. Are you getting the buy rate, or is the dealership marking it up?

This was the better way for sure, but it’s too late for that now. The cat is out of the bag, unfortunately. No way the dealer will offer a more fair deal to the OP knowing what they know.

man this is depressing. was really hoping to hop back into another lease on an LCI comp this Summer but these lease rates are absurd compared to my current one on my '20. oh well maybe the wagon will come to the states when rates make more sense.

true, however he could always take the car to a different dealership and see what they say.

Definitely! That is exactly what I would do in this situation once the dealer is aware of the trade, because there is going to be no different deal from the same dealer.
