BMW Customer Relations tells me that this is scheduled for production the week of February 26, 2023. When will it arrive at my dealership in the Chicago area. |

Nothing to compare. The only thing these two cars essentially share is the chassis.
Congratulations! You’re going to be blown away. Awesome color spec as well.

As it moves along, you can also call or email Genius support. They've always been pretty good to me, but I know there's many out there who would disagree. Once it gets loaded onto a ship, they can also give you that ship's name and a link to watch it as it travels here (online map, not like video).

I just recently received mine (ordered in September), and the biggest delay by far was getting an assignment on a ship in Germany. That took well over 1 month. Then the ship arrived a few days late in the US. But, that was around Christmas, so hopefully it has improved. I would say sometime in late May is more realistic.

Thanks for the info. The build flipped into production this week! Just last week Customer Relations told me it was scheduled for the week of the February 26. Ahead of schedule is great!

That’s great! My car is still in the production begins stage. I’ve watched a few cool YouTubes of the Dingolfing factory and clearly they track every small step that the cars pass through. I wonder how much of that progress displays in the BMW garage. Are you looking at something other that “my garage” to track production.

Mine went into production like yours sometime mid February of 2022, then Putin invaded Ukraine and to my great inconvenience the production paused for two weeks, as most of the wire harnesses were made in Ukraine apparently. Makes sense why BMW were notorious for electrical problems. My car had no issues with ship assignment, as I assume the two week delay gave them a chance to catch up. My port was west coast so that's a 30 day journey through Panama canal. I drove the car off the lot May 14th I believe. Bottom line, with no war delays, ship delays and shorter ship journey, its realistic you'll be getting it in April. My best advise is to stop thinking about it, check only once a week maybe once every two weeks. Distract yourself with something else and you'll be enjoying your car in no time. |
