So I just picked up my ‘20 M5 and I’m loving it.

One odd behavior I’ve noticed is how the rear seat ventilation is linked to the front sync function. If I turn off rear ventilation, it disables sync for the front. I want to sync the front but turn off the rear, is that possible?

yup, been my complaint since day one. I want to sync the front 2 temps, and it turns on the rear. 1st world problems i guess.

I just realized this too, it's annoying. Thanks for saving me a trip to the owners manual, though.

Yes, nothing you can do. My kids are always messing with the rear climate control and it turns off sync.

I dunno, I think its actually a good feature. Helps cool or heat the car much more efficiently and faster. That said, it is annoying when my kids are riding in the back and mess with it.

Yep thought about that too. Makes sense. You just lose some some oomph from the front fans, and it’s a bit noisier. With sync off, I could always turn up fan speed, then it becomes a balance act of how loud do I want the fans vs. how quickly I feel cooled.

Oh well. All good. I’ll just put my right foot down and forget about it

Agree if you have passengers lol. Just a waste of cold air otherwise. Especially since the fan speed for the front suffers. Overall I feel the car does a good job cooling off. Specially when paired with nano-ceramic tint.

You can manually adjust the fan speed even with it on auto. I do it all the time if I need a quicker cool down or I'm too cold now and need it to blow softer.

wait, you saying your car has REAR SEAT VENTILATION???? Or are you talking about the heat/AC fan? For a second there I thought you were going to make my kids REVOLT. "How come only the front seats have heat and ventilation Dad???"

No, just the AC fan, not ventilated rear seats
