Pulling the exhaust valve plugs ?.

Anyone done this small mod on a standard car, with sports exhaust ?, just wondering if you noticed much difference at all, and if so, what did you think ?.

I have done this, the car does have a tiny bit of drone in the low revs when in comfort mode, but I'm talking tiny. Not sure why but even in Sport+ mode it seems to have more pops and crackles - would recommend doing as you can reverse it so easy!

The 4th arrow in the below pic is where I tucked in the cable after sealing it (Male and Female) its the edge of the heatshield and you can tuck it away nicely, no need for zip ties etc.

BTW I am also running a RaceChip so not sure if that is causing the extra pops.

Thanks for the reply Danny,
Will give it a go, and see what i think, and if its worth it, will buy another CG controller. Im only after a few more bangs, that i know are in there, but muffled by the OPFs. If the valves are kept open all the time, it may oblige me somewhat.

Good lad, let me know the results - I find with my RC turned to the max it defo feels like it over fuels more, and if you get the exhaust hot you can get some noise out of it.

The exhaust button is not supposed to keep the valves open while active?

It doesn't keep them open 100% of the time. After the car warms up i notice they close and open based on pedal position mimicking the old style vacuum valves.

It was law in the UK some time ago, that decibels hadnt to be over a certain level, at certain speeds etc, on a factory car, so the valves will close at certain times of the rev range. I first got into this debate in 2003, with a new 996 Carrera with a Porsche sports exhaust, and it was quite a fiddly mod back then to keep the valve open, but it made a tremendous difference.
Wasnt sure if this was applicable in the U S of A
