Factory warranty after lease ends

Anyone have any recommendations on what warranty to purchase after my lease term ends and purchase the vehicle?

This is what I posted back in 2022 when I was looking for warranty package when the factory warranty was expiring at the 4 year mark. The prices quoted are from 2022 so they more then likely have increased. I have not had any problems with my M5 so I cannot comment on the provider.

From the post from 2022:

I purchased my 18 M5 new in August of 2018. It is my weekend car as I have a take home vehicle from my work since 2010. My new car warranty was set to expire in August of 2022 and I started searching for an extended warranty. All warranties are not the same, I spoke with relatives and co-workers and searched the forum for the good and the bad. Some extended warranty companies can and will use like new parts instead of new parts. A co-worker told me his transmission in his Ram 2500 needed to be replaced after the factory warranty expired and he purchased an extended vehicle warranty. They authorized a like new transmission from a truck like his. Long story short he still had problems with the used but like new transmission they installed. So read the fine print and there may be a reason why the price is lower than others. I had a forum member on here that worked for a BMW dealership that sold me the Easy Care Total care with additional 7 years and a total of 100k miles for $4875. My local dealership that sold my M5 wanted $8088 for the same coverage.

Below are prices I found back in July of 2022: My M5 only had 10,400 miles when I purchased the extended warranty. So the low mileage more then likely will play a part in the prices I received.

BMW Platinum (provided by Steve Thomas BMW forum member pricing) Only adds 1,2, or 3 years after the factory warranty expires since the time starts when the car was first put into service.

Time starts when the vehicle was placed into service.
60 months /75k miles $3850
60 months/100k miles $4300

72 months/75k miles $4650
72 months/100k miles $5150

84 months/75k miles $5400
84 months/100k miles $6550

Axiom Platinum
60 months/50k miles $3642 (5 years from today and an additional 50k miles on top of what the vehicle currently has)

Factory Discount Warranty (Troy Dietrich), found this company via the M3 (F80) portion of this forum:

Fidelity Platinum w/ $250 deductible: Time/mileage are additive and effective from the current date and miles.
3 yr / 36K - $3354.00
4 yr / 48K - $4986.00
5 yr / 60K - $6384.00
6 yr / 60K - $7237.00
6 yr / 72K - $7981.00
6 yr / 85K - $8653.00
6 yr / 100K - $9836.00
7 yr / 70K - $8146.00
7 yr / 100K - $11319.00

I visited my local dealer and they gave me the following pricing for Easy Care (Total Care) w/ $250 deductible:
5yrs / 60k - $5,982
5yrs / 75k - $6,426
5yrs / 100k - $7,422
6 yrs / 60k - $6,125
6yrs / 75k - $6,710
6yrs / 100k - $8,088
7yrs / 75k - $6,710
7yrs / 100k - $8,088
10yrs / 150k - $16,531

YAA (Your Auto Advocate) found on You Tube. This MBI quote has you covered for 5 years / 60,000 miles*:

*This means 5 years from the day you purchase the MBI OR when you reach the stated miles on your odometer. Whichever comes first.

SENTINEL MECHANICAL BREAKDOWN INSURANCE, $0 deductible

Months/Miles SUPREME PLUS
60/60,000 $4,236
60/70,000 $4,833
60/75,000 $5,394
60/85,000 $6,833

I got the extended warranty but if I have a mechanical issue, the next step is to find a dealer I can trust to work on the car. Certainly not my local dealer.

Does anyone have the new contact for Steve Thomas BMW to get a new quote? It's seems like Christine Newman isn't there anymore unless I have the wrong email address?

DM GOLFFRR and he can put you in touch with her. I bought a warranty from her in December .. I believe the dealership is under new ownership but at last check, she was still there.

I will look for her email in the morning.
