Should I really pop the hood when parking at night?

This guy says "pop the hood when you park for the night. The hot vee turbo makes a lot of heat, with the hood open it escapes quicker and won’t cook the top end of the engine so much"

Is there any truth to this advice?

Probably if you took off the plastic engine cover, the upper metal engine shield, the stock heat blanket, and the lower metal engine shield.

I removed the hood to keep it cooler and put ice on it when I park.

Yes I put dry ice on mine every time I stop ...

Ya but no - not even when tracking do I bother with that - the fans stay on anyway, which is good enough in IMHO
