Changing Stock 789m wheel color

Hi all,

I'm dropping off my 789m wheels to tonight to be powder coated. I'm having trouble deciding on a color / finish. Initially, I planned to do a hyper silver, similar to the standard BMW color of the past, then I was thinking gunmetal but now I'm thinking gold, similar to the CS stock wheels. The car is BSM, so I think black is out of the question because this car needs some contrast, I feel. I really am not a fan of 2 tone wheels so either way, I want to change the stock look.

My F85 winters were powder coated in Gunmetal and I was pretty happy with the look. I think I'm leaning most towards this, paired with the carbon bits i think it offers enough contrast.

Pics below of the current iForged 21s, the stock wheels and my F85 powder coated gun metal (I was fitting the front lip, hence the sag, wasn't 3M'd yet..)

I went with gloss black, I should be picking up the wheels today or tomorrow and will post pics to help other members if they need to make a decision... god damn this forum is dead as dirt.

I love the 789M's and have them in the factory two-tone. But I have to say that if I had a choice, I'd have them in a single lighter color, or at least a uniform color.

As much as I like them as they are, those wheels look MUCH better on the CS. You just see more detail, IMO. It's not about the goldish color itself. I'm sure plain silver would look good.

I'm sure they will look great in black.

I went gloss black. With MBB, and the BMW carbon pack, they finish the car off perfectly.

I picked them up last night and the car is going for a wrap, satin black, on Monday. I'll post pictures on Thursday before I drop it off for downpipe instalation. Initial impression is the wheels look phenomenal in a solid color, if I were sticking with my factory BSM color rather than wrapping then I would have gone with a gunmetal or silver. With and other factory paint gloss black is the way to go for sure.
