Took my car in to the dealer as it was generally fine but some annoying rattles that I couldn't isolate were driving me a bit crazy as I'm quite sensitive to them, and I thought I'd see if they could look at it. Interim information so far they have provided is that they discovered it needs a new steering column and door handle. Now the door handle, I can kind of understand as I had a feeling the rear door was playing up with the comfort access recently, but what could the reason be for needing a new steering column?

Yes, strangely I had noticed the steering feeling a little "off" recently, compared to how it was when I first got it, but I put that down to no more than tyre pressures and the steering itself felt, what I'd consider, normal.

Is there any history of the columns needing replacements on the F90?

Anyway I will obviously get them to do it, it's under warranty so I'm not going to be footing the bill and it's better that it's new but I just wondered what the reason could be?

Steering column was replaced on my 18M5. Just had to have my windshield replaced due to rattles on my 22M5.

Took my X5 in for steering sensor angle and somehow my passenger side light goes bad.
