I’ve been experimenting with my jb4, map 2, doing some dragy 60-130 pulls and I feel the TCU can’t keep up. I have a 2018 base M5 model. It just seems when I shift, there is a delay or when I shift it takes a while and I feel I can get more consistent times if it was transition less shift.

Curios if going bootmod3 tune would fix this or is it all in the TCU tune? If so who sells these and can anyone give feedback if you noticed a difference?

It is very noticeable within jb4, what you can do is get your software updated so it can also update the TCU section.

Bootmod3 is working on a few things, including the TCU but no ETA at the moment as they're currently in Public Beta with iPhone (Direct Flash) meaning no laptop required at the moment.

Do you have a contact? I'd love to know if they've cracked it for the M8.

Congrats! Can't wait to get your impressions.

So I got the evolve stage 2 e30, with their tcu tune. Had to go back n fourth on tcu few times but finally got it situated where I need to be. LC was the issue initially but now good to go. This my personal best with project gamma intakes and AFE filters. Will do draggy with gamma filters as well. Changed tires to sport cup 2 connects heat cycled from 4s.

My 2 cents on tcu that car feels faster and more aggressive. I have gone back n forth with n without it but cannot imagine driving without it anymore.

Fantastic 1/8th and up numbers especially given that the 0-60 and 60 ft aren't in the same top notch category—a 10.2 anything for a 4-door sedan in the 1/4 mile is nothing short of exceptional. Well done!

When can it be my turn?

GTATX you run your car pretty hard how many miles do have on it?

Edit: Also what all do you have done to it? Is there a consolidated list for anyone trying to emulate?

GTATX, before running evolve stage 2 did you tried stage 1 including TCU? Wanted to start with the best tune for ECU and TCU for an all stock M5 2018 but with the potential to upgrade. From what I read evolve seems to have a great overall tune for both ECU and TCU but was not sure about stage 1 ECU and TCU tune improvements. My alternative is to get JB4 and use map 1 or map 2 for the stock car version and upgrade to an ECU and TCU tune later.

Thank you for the quick response. Do you know roughly what is the improvement for evolve stage 1 ECU and TCU on a stock car in terms of HP/Torque and 0-60 and quarter mile? Do you think that the evolve stage 1 ECU and TCU would be perceivably better thank JB4 on map 1 or map 2 on the same stock car?

Stage 1 and tcu should bring u down to under 10.5 range I think with e30. Car should trap 2-3mph quicker than stock close to 134mph range

Thank you. How does the JB4 map 1 or 2 compare to the Evolve stage 1? I will only use pump 93 octane for now.

I haven't done much with JB4 in this platform. Bunch of guys are running it and they are doing great numbers. I just wanted to go with evolve based on their tuned are logged and tested on their cars and we can actually see videos of what they have done and achieved. On top I was able to work with Utku Noa there master tuner and he has been great to tune tune it further.

I just ran this a day before but it's was e40+ which u may not run but my car has no issues up till e85 for over a year. I have ethanol sensor and banks iDash gauge so I keep an eye on all numbers from iat to e85 blend, fuels trims and ign.
Yours being stage 1 I will still recommend them for main reason as they can fine tune ecu and tcu based on ur car and not just a random bench tune.

Are the AFE filters better than the original Project Gamma ones? I purchased the PG intake for my F90 Competition and was wondering why you are using others than the ones that come with the intake?
