Power supply malfunction

Curious if anyone has seen this message before. This came up at the end of a track day at Palmer Motorsport Park. She ran pretty hard all day so I suspect maybe it got too hot and started throwing errors. The warning kept coming back intermittently the whole way home (about 2 hours). Restart the next day and the message is gone and no further issues.

Happens to me every few weeks no codes nothing. Just letting the car sit for a while restarting fixes it.

Update- I left it on the trickle charger for a few days although the charger showed that it was topped up after about 9 hours. Error has not come back at all.

Try removing negative terminal for 5 mins n plug it again. I have had seat belt, passenger restraint, power supply malfunction either when it's too hot or too cold.

Sweet a Car you have to shut off and leave off to reset.....so if you have an emergency and must drive are you supposed to have a second car handy? That is hardly a solution. This must be investigated and fixed. If I wanted a car I had to let sit for a few hours before I could drive it I would get one of the fancy Coal Burning Cars.

(Tesla Coal Burning Car)

Hey man so it happened to me in the morning today because the car was standing outside with temp -20 can this be a sensor issue ??

More than likely. Whenever it's either too hot or cold this happens.

I had the same issue where this error would randomly come up. Took it to service and dealer installed a new lithium battery. So far no issues.

Nice! How long had you owned the vehicle and with how many miles did they agree to replace it? I’m assuming under warranty and not out of pocket.

I have 22K miles and it was covered under warranty. Out of warranty it costs $2300 at the dealership.

my local dealer recognized that the car's history showed "Battery Maintenance, start car' but because it was not showing the day I brought it in they would not replace the battery. It's not rocket science the LI batteries do die. Just waiting until my battery is dead dead and hope by then DIY change to AGM battery is posted somewhere. So sick of "BMW Service" it's lame.
